Healthy Living Toolkit: Patient's Rights and Responsibilities
This six-panel brochure educates patients about their rights and responsibilities in the United States. It discusses every person's right to quality health care, including having information presented in an understandable way, privacy and access to medical records, choice of medical treatment, and active participation in health care. Patient responsibilities are outlined, such as communication with health care providers, following treatment and taking medications as directed, asking questions, keeping appointments, and paying for services not covered by insurance. Links for more information are provided. The USCRI's complete Healthy Living Toolkit is also available at www.refugees.org.
