Abstract:

This three-page English-language document gives service providers working with refugees in the Somali Bantu Community Orientation program guidelines for leading them through the Employment session. It explains the session's objectives, what the facilitator will need, and how to deliver the instructional session. Discussion questions are provided. The document includes an outline overview of employment in the U.S., how to find jobs, employer expectations, employee rights, how to overcome barriers and move up in the job field, paychecks, and taxes.
