Abstract:

This four-page English-language document gives service providers working with refugees in the Somali Bantu Community Orientation program guidelines for leading them through the Education session. It explains the session's objectives, what the facilitator will need, and how to deliver the instructional session. Discussion questions are provided. The document includes an outline overview of types of schools, enrollment, transportation, the school day and school year, teachers expectations of students, school and religion, and parental involvement in their children's education.
