Abstract:

This four-page English-language document gives service providers working with refugees in the Somali Bantu Community Orientation program guidelines for leading them through the Social Adjustment session. It explains the session's objectives, what the facilitator will need, and how to deliver the instructional session. Discussion questions and an outline overview of social guidelines in the U.S., phases of cultural transition, and suggested adjustment strategies are provided.
