Abstract:

This two-page report informs service providers working with refugees from Iraq. It provides a historical timeline (1534-2015), brief descriptions of methods of torture used in that country, and a synopsis of current conditions and pertinent issues facing Iraqi refugees. It discusses the country's current situation, including non-state actors, gender-based violence, government and security, internally displaced people, and child imprisonment.
