This three-page guide provides background information for service providers working with refugees who are torture survivors. These displaced persons are reportedly at higher risk for hazardous and harmful alcohol and substance abuse. The risk and harm of substance abuse, patterns, models, clinical consideration, and withdrawal symptoms are discussed.
