Schizophrenia (An Introduction)

Resource Properties

Abstract:

This one-page handout with accompanying audio and video educates people about schizophrenia, a serious brain illness. It discusses psychotic, negative, and cognitive symptoms of schizophrenia, and when symptoms usually start. Though there is no cure, the document explains that medicine and additional treatments such as therapy, family education, rehabilitation, and skills training can control many of the symptoms and help people deal with the illness. Adapted from the text of the MedlinePlus Health Introduction.
