Medication Management of Miscarriage Aftercare Instructions

Resource Properties

Abstract:

This two-page document is a take-home sheet of aftercare instructions for providers to give to patients after medication management of a miscarriage. It serves to remind patients of instructions the provider gave them in the office, discussing use of misoprostol pills to help make the tissue pass and symptoms to expect, including cramping and bleeding with clots. The document provides guidance about pain management and normal responses to miscarriage, such as sadness or feeling emotional. A list of symptoms for which the patient should call or return to their provider, including a place to write down their 24-hour phone number and follow-up appointment information, is provided.
