Abstract:

This two-page handout with accompanying audio and video educates people about substance abuse and the risk of transmitting HIV. It examines injection drug use and HIV transmission, and identifies ways injection drug users can reduce their risk for HIV infection. It discusses other drug-related risks for HIV, such as methamphetamine (meth) use and risks for men who have sex with men (MSM). Risks with alcohol and other drugs are also outlined.
