Limiting Your Fluids

Resource Properties

Abstract:

This six-page illustrated handout educates people with certain diseases about ways to measure and limit their fluid intake. It explains that drinking too much fluid may cause harmful fluid build up in the body. It lists types and quantities of fluids that need to be measured and counted toward the daily fluid allowance, and provides tips for keeping track of fluids, and feeling less thirsty. The document contains a place where a healthcare provider can write in the patient's daily fluid allowance, and includes a fluid conversion table that calculates imperial and metric measures of volume.
