This one-page handout educates people about treatment options for chronic infection with the hepatitis B virus (HBV). It explains that treatment with FDA-approved drugs can slow down progressive liver damage caused by the virus, and recommends that patients with chronic HBV infection see their doctor regularly to discuss treatment options and receive follow-up care.
