Abstract:

This one-page handout with accompanying audio and video educates people about what to do in the event of a public health emergency. It explains different kinds of possible bioterrorism attacks, and discusses the local public health department's role in distributing medications and giving vaccinations to the general public. Pandemic influenza planning is offered as an example of how local government, hospitals, clinics, and other health agencies develop responsive plans to provide vaccinations or medications to the public.
