Abstract:

This four-page handout helps people prepare for an ultrasound, which a type of imaging that uses sound waves to look at parts of the body. It explains what will happen during the test, and after. The document includes check boxes where a healthcare provider can indicate which parts of the body will be tested, providing additional instructions to help people prepare for abdominal, thyroid, breast, scrotum or testicle, and pelvis ultrasounds.
