Resource Properties

Abstract:

This one-page handout educates people about causes of bad breath, known as halitosis, and its prevention. It explains that good oral hygiene, including daily brushing and flossing, and regular dental checkups and cleanings, can control mouth odor. The document discusses possible reasons for bad breath, such as foods, odors emanating from the lungs and sinuses, tobacco use, dry mouth, and other medical conditions. It recommends that people consult with their dentist if they experience persistent bad breath despite good oral hygiene.
