Vaccinations for Pregnant Women

Resource Properties

Abstract:

This one-page handout educates women about vaccinations they may or may not need during pregnancy. It identifies eleven vaccinations and provides details about their level of necessity, safety and risk factors, and includes guidance for when during the pregnancy the woman should receive each vaccination, the number of doses needed, and the timeline for administering all doses. It recommends that women who are pregnant consult with their healthcare provider about risk for infection and need for particular vaccines, and provides a link to the CDC Travelers' Health web page for more information for persons planning to travel outside the United States.
